Huneke Homes has an excellent reputation. After eight years, six subdivisions and several
custom homes our reputation still stands strong. A little history as to where we came from
and how we have become part of the home building industry is as follows.

The majority of Tom & Julia Huneke's careers were spent in other industries. Julia as an
international bond trader and Tom was an sales engineer for an international firm that handled
roof wood trusses in North America, including Canada as well as other countries. They
decided to settle down in St. Louis and start their own building company. This enabled
them to set the standards and build homes according to their specifications. By doing so,
they could use such things as brick and stone fronts and offer elevations that
customers love.

"Build it and they will come," said Tom. "We will build houses as if we would live in them.
We want to treat customers with care and politeness. Always trying to give the customer what
he wants. We always allow changes during the construction process.
Why not, the customer appreciates it and Huneke Homes upsells. It is a win/win."

The reason Huneke Homes offers a different product is because of the vast experience and
exposure of Tom and Julia. Tom has a keen eye for old country architecture. When we say
old country, we are talking about Europe - steep gables, swoops, homes with several
elevation changes, multiple colors on the front, etc.

As far as how they run their business, the construction industry is not dissimilar from others.
"A business should be modeled after service, style, class, cash flow, integrity and honesty.
It doesn't matter what the product is or the source of income, it's the way the business
is run - That is what is important."

Tom does the CADD work and seals the prints, Julia does the Start Sheets as well as customer
follow ups and company financing. Both Tom and Julia are anxious to show each new customer their unique approach to home building.

Tom was an engineer for an international firm that does roof truss computer programming and engineering for wood trusses used in about 1/4 of all the residential, 1/2 of all the agricultural and about 1/10 of all the commercial roofs in North America including Canada as well as other countries. Tom's Professional Engineering license as well as his vast experience sent him to customer's boardrooms across the world. His knowledge is now used designing your new home.

Tom and Julia ended their jet set traveling careers and settled down to a Saint Louis based business. They decided to start their own business. Fortunately they had the funds to purchase an entire subdivision and therefore set the standards and build according to their specifications.
